Fluid Retention
As part of Morbis Arts: Disease of the Arts, a 2 metre helium balloon remained suspended for the period of the exhibition tethered to a balloon of equal size filled with water. Sitting in a fabricated pool of water, natural entropy was intended to develop over 6 weeks and the grounded ballon burst its skin, filling the pool. Presented at Connie Dietzschold Gallery in Sydney, and at the Plimsoll Gallery in Hobart, previous iterations saw the floor flood with water. In this third iteration I made the pool yet the ballon didn't break. The work engages with bodies, duration and entropy. The video projection sitting behind the sculpture is 'Twice'.
